Inventorying and Unloading your Truck Rental

When leasing a truck rental vehicle for your move, it's crucial that you have a very specific plan of action in place.  That's because you'll be responsible for the packing, loading and unloading of your belongings.  One way to ensure a smooth truck rental move is to utilize and follow a workable inventory system.  That system should be used for both the loading and unloading part of the move.  Basically, you should design an inventory sheet that details the box numbers, the room destination and contents for each box.  And the boxes should be labeled with box numbers and room destinations.  When putting the boxes into the truck rental, you should mark off as being placed into the vehicle.  But what do you do once you arrive at your new residence and are ready to unload?  Follow our suggestions below that will help make this part of the truck rental move as smooth as the beginning. 

Have sheet in hand

Before you start unloading the boxes, make sure you have a copy of the inventory sheet.  Nothing should be removed from the truck rental unless it's checked off on the sheet.  That's especially important if you have several people helping, as a box can easily get lost during this part of the move.  The best system is to have one person at the back of the truck marking off the boxes as they're being unloaded by a second person.  If you don't have someone to help you move, you'll need to take the extra time to mark off each box as you unload it from the truck rental.

Bringing the boxes into the house

Once the boxes are marked off on the inventory sheet, start bringing them into the house.  If you have a few volunteers to help you with your truck rental move, have them bring the boxes directly into the specific rooms.  That way there won't be any clutter in the entrance of the house.  However, if you're all alone, the best method is to place all the boxes in the entrance of the house and then divide accordingly.
