Inventorying Boxes for your Truck Rental Move

abstract:

Creating a workable inventory system for your boxes for a truck rental move is key to a smooth move.  Find out how to create that successful inventory system.

Moving is not an easy process.  It takes time, energy and lots of planning, and even then it can still be an exhausting experience.  And one of the most time consuming aspects of a truck rental move is the packing.  The packing for a truck rental move can take weeks, as you'll need to pack up your life's worth of belongings in a short period of time.  And if you're packing up belongings for others beside yourself, that process can take even longer.  So in order to simplify the overall packing process for a truck rental move, it's crucial that you have a system in place.  Here's one system that is proven to ease the packing process.

Develop a well-defined inventory system

Utilizing a well-defined, workable inventory system for your lifelong belongings can greatly reduce the stress and time involved in the moving process.  How you accomplish this task is to have a clear labeling system for boxes and a pen and paper.  Here's how it works.

The inventory sheet

The key to a successful inventory system for your truck rental move is to design a simple inventory sheet that has the following columns:  box number; destination room; description of contents (i.e. toys, toiletries) and; uploaded into truck rental.  Don't add any more columns to your sheet, as it will just complicate the process.

The labeling

Part two of establishing a well-defined inventory system is to label each and every box before you place it into the truck rental vehicle.  Each box should be labeled with a box number and the destination room on the outside of the box.  The box numbers should follow in sequence as close as possible.  For instance, all of the box numbers in the master bedroom should be in consecutive order, all the box numbers for the kitchen area should also be in consecutive order and so on.

Putting the information on the inventory sheet

As you label each box with a number and destination room, mark it down on the inventory sheet.  That way you won't miss any boxes.

Loading the boxes

When loading the boxes into the truck rental, mark them off as being loaded into the vehicle.
