It's just as important to plan out a schedule before your truck rental move date, as it is to plan after everything is loaded into the truck. Find out what's important in the process.
Reaching the actual day of your move takes a lot of planning. You plan your packing schedule, purchase all of your moving boxes, choose your truck rental company, and pack and load up your truck rental vehicle. But with so much to plan up until to this point, you might forgot to plan what comes next. But what follows (besides simply moving in) is just as important as planning everything that leads up to the day of the move. Listed below are just some of the factors to consider after you've packed up everything into your truck rental vehicle.
If it's a long-distance move
Long-distance truck rental moves take much more planning on the other side of the move. If you're moving within a few hours of your old place, you'll need to plan a place to stop so that you can rest and get a bite to eat. That means looking at a map to decide where's the best stopping place. But if moving more than a day's journey, you'll need to make hotel reservations even before you set foot into the truck rental. That's especially the case if you're moving during the busier summer months when it might be nearly impossible to book a room last minute. And if driving your truck rental cross-country, you'll certainly need to plan out your itinerary beforehand.
Helpers to unload
You might have arranged for volunteers to help with the loading of the truck rental, but don't forget about enlisting help for the unloading part of the move. After all, it's important to unload your boxes in a decent amount of time since you'll need to return your truck rental vehicle as per the contract. If you don't, you'll be charged an extra daily fee.
Unpacking schedule
If you don't want to drive yourself crazy with anxiety, set up an unpacking schedule so that you have a systematic schedule to unpack the house, room by room. Otherwise, you'll be running around the house without any plan. Again, you might want to enlist the help of volunteers (i.e. friends or family members) to unpack your belongings so that the whole unpacking process would take a much shorter period of time.
