A truck rental move doesn't necessarily need to be a strain on the environment. Buy recyclable boxes and borrow boxes when possible.
When moving, you'll be using a lot of boxes which can mean a lot of extra strain on the environment, both in the number of tress that need to be cut and in creation of extra garbage once your truck rental move is complete. But it doesn't necessarily have to be a strain on the environment if you plan it well. Here are some suggestions in how to ease the stress on the environment when moving.
Use plastic when possible
Not everything has to be packed in corrugated boxes for your truck rental move. Try packing away some of your items in plastic containers. Though they might be more expensive than buying boxes, they can be used over and over again without a problem. And they're great if you need to pack away items that you don't plan to use for awhile, such as seasonal items.
Buy recyclable boxes
If possible, try to purchase recyclable boxes for your truck rental move. Recyclable boxes are those that are not coated with any additives such as wax. Many times the boxes will be stamped as "recyclable." Once you're all unpacked, you can dump these types of boxes in the recyclable trash bins.
Thin out your belongings before the move
You can greatly reduce the amount of boxes that you'll need for your truck rental move if you go through your belongings and throw out what you don't need. Or consider having a garage sale for your unwanted items. It's a great way to make some extra money for your move.
Borrow boxes
So that you won't cause any more pollution in the environment during your truck rental move, ask friends or family if you can borrow their old moving boxes. After all, most moving boxes are extremely sturdy and are good for at least a couple of moves.
Ask local stores for boxes
Possible sources for boxes for your truck rental move are your local stores. Just ask the store managers when their shipments come in and if they wouldn't mind if you take their boxes. For the most part, they should be delighted that you're taking their boxes since they won't have to pay an extra disposal fee.
