Full-service moves include the truck rental vehicle and much more. Find out what services are provided with a full-service move.
When moving to your new place, you'll have the option to choose from a do-it-yourself move to a full-service move, which includes all the whistles and bells. If you're limited on time and have the budget, you might want to consider a full-service move. Here's what a full-service move offers.
The truck rental
A part of the overall expense of a full-service move is payment for the use of the truck rental vehicle. Different moving companies have different size truck rentals according to your specific needs. For instance, if you're moving a three-bedroom house, you might want to consider paying for the service of using their 16 foot truck. If moving a four-bedroom and up house, you'll want to take advantage of their full-size, 24 or 26 foot truck rental. On the other hand, if you're moving from a small house, you'll want to ask the company for their smallest vehicle. It will definitely save you money on your full-service move.
Loading and unloading
Unlike a do-it-yourself move, the moving company loads and unloads the truck rental. That means you don't have to worry about a sore back the day after your move.
Packing and unpacking
With a full-service move, you have the option of either packing and unpacking your belongings by yourself, or having the moving company pack and unpack. If you choose this option, just be prepared to pay for the convenience. Some full-service companies might give you the option of choosing to pay for only packing or unpacking.
Driving
With a full-service move, you leave the driving to the professionals. These professionals have been trained to drive the truck rental and have lots of experience doing so. This can be a big plus in case you were worried about driving the truck by yourself like in a do-it-yourself move.
What's not included
Though a full-service move is pretty much all-inclusive, it does not include packing supplies such as boxes, tape and bubble wrap paper. But you can usually purchase these supplies from the full-service moving company. Some might even discount the price if you choose the full-service package.
